For Immediate Release:
QCS Now in Westchester for Con Edison’s Power of Green Initiative
Oak Ridge, New Jersey, July 1, 2010--Quality Conservation Services, Inc. (QCS), an award-winning nationwide Energy Services Company (ESCO) and approved contractor of Con Edison since 2004, today announced they have officially begun installations in Westchester, New York, its newest service territory of the Lighting Express Program.
Quality Conservation Services’ Lighting Express Program is a derivative of Con Edison’s Targeted DSM (Demand-Side Management) Program through its Power of Green Initiative. This initiative seeks to improve the reliability of electric service in targeted neighborhoods of high demand and avoid expensive system upgrades that can increase rates.
QCS has an agreement with Con Edison to reduce energy use in specific areas of Westchester by replacing inefficient, incandescent light bulbs with Energy Star® qualified compact fluorescent bulbs. For a limited time only through the Lighting Express Program, residential customers in the targeted areas may receive these energy efficient lighting upgrades at no cost.
These energy efficient lighting upgrades immediately increase the energy efficiency in the home and save money and carbon emissions each month. One compact fluorescent bulb alone saves approximately $60.00 and 600 lbs. of carbon dioxide over its life span.
QCS has been working with Con Edison on the Targeted DSM Program through this initiative since 2004 and has contributed over 30,000,000 watts of energy reduction from more than 30,000 Con Edison customers in Manhattan, Brooklyn and The Bronx.
